Education:

B.S.E.E. Purdue University; M.I.S., Indiana University

My areas of interest:

I specialize in IT management, network security, network and systems engineering, and network and systems administration. I joined IUPUI after 20 years of industry and military experience. I enjoy connecting students with industry projects that can provide them the much-needed hands-on experience.

Range of companies I have worked with:

I have worked with companies that range from small to medium sized business and non-profits. I have worked with architectural, engineering, printing, and biomedical companies. I have also worked with manufacturing companies that support various industries from automotive to healthcare.

Range of projects I have worked on:

I have worked on a wide variety of projects with local Indiana companies. Examples include performing a security penetration test; developing and conducting security risk assessments; solving network and systems issues; server and desktop migration issues; technology planning; and developing a local content delivery network.

What I most enjoy about working for TAP:

There are several aspects that I enjoy about TAP. I really enjoy the opportunity to get students engaged with local companies and witness the students apply knowledge learned in the classroom. I also enjoy learning about the variety of companies here in Indiana. Lastly, I take pleasure in the student and the company achieving a mutual benefit from the engagement.

Success Story: Anderson Tool and Engineering. This project developed from an external advisory board meeting in which the members needed help with network security assessment. We have since developed and performed a successful network security assessment.
